The thrill of starting a game of golf in an awesome land, stunning views, with a climate suitable all year round, justifies your escape at the highly recommended golf courses on the island.

Embedded in the divine terrain of cliffs and, gorges, overlooking the sea, golf courses in Cyprus have received frenzied reviews.  Designed by world renowned golf architects, some function as autonomous spaces whereas others are situated in luxury resorts that offer everything you need for a tranquil hideout. Quality entertainment and healthy activities will boost your immune system and gratify your heart.

Minthis Golf Club

With the Troodos mountains as a fabulous backdrop, the Minthis course is your new challenge; it meanders through an ancient twelfth century monastery with exceptional championship and incredible vistas standing out. Through the hundreds of olive trees, grapevines and fruit orchards you will find a course which stretches flawlessly along the topography's natural undulations, looping past water features and ancient groves.

Donald Steel, the renowned golf architect, created the course in 1994.  A few years later Mackenzie and Ebert, two famous course designers, renovated it.  This specific course is a perfect example of their philosophy, which holds that golf courses should be tailored to the local environment, fit into the topography, and give emphasis to detail.

In certain spots the atmosphere is peaceful and serene, ideal for a friendly game, among narrow tree-lined fairways that pose a dare in your game towards careful assessment.

The 14th hole, the only island green in Cyprus, was also turned into a wonderful signature hole by Mackenzie and Ebert.  It's a looped course, with each of the nine finishing at the Clubhouse, perfect for bonding and refreshments; enjoy a drink during, before or after the game at the lounge, golf terrace or cocktail bar. The restaurant turns the finest local and international ingredients into a culinary bliss.  A fully equipped Pro Shop will tempt you into some quality purchases.  Minthis also provides a golfing academy, where you can upscale your game for maximum enjoyment.

The resort is located at the very heart of Paphos’ wine country and offers spectacular mountain views. Situated only ten minutes from Paphos, it is surrounded by charming villages that offer a genuine Cypriot experience.

Once you finish your golf game you can enjoy the astonishing suites of Minthis Resort, charging your batteries for the following day.

Aphrodite Hills Golf Club - PGA National, Cyprus

Located between Paphos and Limassol, Aphrodite Hills is an award-winning recreational center, golf course, and real estate development area with an 18-hole golf course, designed by the famous architect Cabell B. Robinson.

Overlooking the endless blue of the Mediterranean, the impressive feature of the course is the deep gorge that separates the two highlands which has been beautifully integrated into its design. Immersed in hundred-year old olive and carob trees, the Aphrodite Hills course offers the perfect combination of pot bunker holes, and well-groomed paths with bermuda.  One of the defining features of the 6,299-meter course is the 7th hole, which ranks among the most spectacular par 3 challenges in Europe. The hole is in a gorge with an extensive area of greenery.

The course, which started operating in 2002, has also a space designed for practice, 4 green areas with bunker holes, facilities for practicing short games and a 3-hole academy.  Three permanent golf instructors are at your service for individual or group lessons on the three-hole training course and a fully equipped shop for professionals.

A beautifully decorated club with a bar, restaurant and outdoor areas overlooking the green scenery can host events and private parties, while the resort also includes the luxurious five-star Aphrodite Hills Hotel, a tennis academy, gyms, luxury villas, junior villas and apartments, spas, shops and restaurants.

Secret Valley Golf Course

A majestic setting with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, this golf course is nestled in a picturesque valley in Paphos, at “Petra tou Romiou” which, according to legend, is the birthplace of Aphrodite, the goddess of love.

The architects who designed the golf course are Hans-Georg Erhardt and Snorri Vilhjalmsson of the well-known Golf & Land Design.

The field, with its steep downhill terrain, offers spectacular locations and views of the valley and the sea and has an area of 5,700 meters. It has 22 covered areas, endless space to play, and additional interior areas.

The elegant club is set on wood and stone, with comfortable living areas and fireplaces. The two large balconies have a spectacular view of the valley, while the restaurant offers an international menu. Ample choices for accommodation are available such as luxury villas and apartments at the Venus Rock Resort.

Eléa Golf Club

With a grand view of the sea, the award-winning Eléa Golf Club is located in the area of Paphos, specifically in Geroskipou - 8 km from the International Paphos Airport.  Designed by legendary British golfer Sir Nick Faldo, this 71-hole, 6,775-yard golf course highlights the numerous features of the natural landscape, including carob and olive trees. Natural limestone comes into contrast with the dark green grass while few of the holes are framed by wild herbs and endemic flora.

Sir Nick Faldo carefully designed Eléa's golf course so that each hole creates a "strategic puzzle" for golfers. The course is accessible on foot, but also golf carts are available for rent.

Inspired by the island's traditional architecture, this elegant club includes bars, restaurants, a library and plenty of fireplaces to keep you warm and cozy. From the numerous terraces available, you can enjoy the exceptional landscape unfolding before your eyes.

The place is also ideal for accommodation, with luxurious villas and apartments, a boutique type hotel, spa facilities as well as a variety of restaurants for fine dining.
